Interacting with teens in crisis
This term, Interact @ BHS is holding a clothing drive initiative for the Southern Sydney Youth Crisis Refuge.
Interact @ BHS has joined forces with this community group again this year to help the teens in our community who are currently in crisis.
The Southern Sydney Youth Crisis Refuge is a not-for profit organisation that provides emergency shelter and care to teens. These teens will often arrive at the Refuge with very few possessions - this is a result of having to leave their current residence due to issues of violence, abuse or neglect. The Refuge also acts as a safe place for teens to stay whilst they continue to attend school or TAFE.
Interact @ BHS would like to help these teens in crisis by providing clothing for them to wear. By helping to provide extra clothing for the teens, the Refuge can spend money on other essential items such as food, educational equipment etc.
How can you help
If you have any unwanted clothing suitable for teenagers, please bring it to the school library from August 29th to September 4th. Please make sure that the clothing is clean, appropriate for teenagers and in a good condition.
