Blakehurst High School serves its community as a coeducational comprehensive high school with specialist languages status. In 2011 our school community endorsed our "Respect and Responsibility Charter", which consisted of the ideals that:
- Our school community values students who respect other students, teachers, property of the school and of other people, themselves, the general public and parents.
- Our school community values students who take responsibility to attend school every day and every lesson, who work to the best of their ability and continually strive to improve, complete all homework and assessments, allow others to learn and not disrupt others' learning and help stop bullying at school.
Students at Blakehurst High School are drawn from the primary feeder schools of Baldface, Blakehurst, Carlton South, Connells Point, Hurstville and Hurstville South. An increasing number of students seek enrolment from outside the local area drawn by the school's comprehensive and coeducational nature and by the very broad curriculum. Students of all abilities and backgrounds learn in an inclusive, harmonious learning environment.
