Welcome from our Principal
Welcome to Blakehurst High School
As the proud Principal of Blakehurst High School, I warmly welcome you to our vibrant school community. Located in Sydney’s southern suburbs, our coeducational, comprehensive high school offers exceptional educational experiences for over 1,000 students. We are committed to excellence in public education, fostering an inclusive environment that celebrates our diverse community.
Our focus on quality teaching is evident in our outstanding academic achievements, including impressive results in the Higher School Certificate and NAPLAN, as we strive to support every student in reaching their full potential. The Blakehurst HS motto, Nihil Sine Labore, meaning ‘nothing without hard work,’ is a sentiment instilled at all levels of the school. Our community sets high expectations for all as it actively pursues the values of rigour, empathy, and integrity, fostering a challenging and supportive learning environment where students can achieve their personal best.
In promoting quality teaching and learning, our teachers engage in evidence informed teaching practices and targeted professional development, continually enhancing their skills to support each student in achieving their best educational, wellbeing, and social outcomes.
I eagerly anticipate collaborating with our school community to enhance our growth and achievements, as I believe Blakehurst High School offers an exceptional environment for teaching, learning, and leadership.
I invite you to contact the school to schedule an appointment and welcome your enquiries.
Yours faithfully,
Kylie Rytmeister
